Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certification provides measurable benefits to facility owners and communities that go beyond marketing value. LEED Certification can be a powerful lure that attracts building tenants, a recruitment tool for universities and a way for businesses and governments to demonstrate their commitment to the environment and the communities they serve.
Beyond these advantages, LEED-certified facilities deliver measurable energy cost savings every day through their use of energy efficient systems and renewable energy. Ameresco has LEED-certified engineers on staff with the experience and expertise to guide developers, building managers and facility owners through the steps needed to meet LEED certification goals and enjoy the ongoing benefits of lower utility bills. Whether it’s a new facility still in the planning stages or an existing property in need of energy efficient upgrades, Ameresco will identify best-in-class solutions that meet current LEED standards and provide complete guidance at each step of the evaluation and certification process.
FEATURED CASE STUDY:
UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY
A comprehensive energy efficiency project, financed without up-front costs through an energy savings performance contract (ESPC), allowed the University of Kentucky to transform both the way it consumed energy and the way it monitored energy use. State-of-the-art energy management controls allow facilities managers to track energy use across 61 campus buildings, while outreach to the student body has encouraged every member of the university community to do their part to meet energy efficiency goals.
