The Chandler Arizonan – Chandler to reap big savings with solar panels

When economic times are good in Chandler, City Council has made it a priority to turn its one-time funds into ongoing savings.

Times are still good, and the city is in the process of a new project that will turn one-time dollars into ongoing savings of about $1.4 million per year.

Council approved the second part of a study to install solar panels at 23 city facilities that would offset 56% of those buildings’ energy use and generate more than nine megawatts of power.
