Methuen School Improvements Underway

METHUEN — Much needed upgrades to the city’s schools, including the replacement of the Marsh Grammar School’s roof, are underway after the City Council approved a $2.7 million contract with energy savings company Ameresco this summer.

Ameresco, a Framingham-based energy efficiency company, works with municipalities to make energy-saving upgrades that later pay themselves off through the cost savings of using less electricity. The company was also behind a similar $3 million project with the city earlier this year that saw the replacement of the ice rink and field house’s roofs and a citywide changeover to LED streetlamps.
