Solar Power Systems
Drawing energy from the sun offsets on-grid power consumption and could dramatically reduce overall energy costs. Ameresco can design and install solar power systems anywhere, from the sides of a building to a parking lot.
Passive solar thermal systems from Ameresco, such as solar chimneys, let facility managers maximize an emission-free source of heating and cooling, lowering overall energy consumption and costs.
Ameresco works with communities, forestry organizations and industrial processors to provide a source of fuel for heating, steam generation or power generation.
Geothermal heating and cooling systems from Ameresco reduce energy costs by tapping a freely available, on-site source of energy.
Methane, a natural byproduct of decomposition in landfills, is one of the greatest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions. LFGTE solutions from Ameresco turn this gas into a source of energy, heating and steam, improving GHG compliance and providing revenue for landfill owners.
Ameresco offers a depth of experience in designing, building and operating wind power systems, from on-site generation to utility-scale projects.
Over the years, renewable energy, clean or "green" energy, sustainability, and corporate responsibility have become primary business concerns, with a measurable impact on consumer and investor interest in all types of businesses. As one of the country's largest renewable asset developers, Ameresco takes a budget and business-friendly approach to renewable power that brings real, sustained economic benefit while ensuring environmentally friendly energy infrastructures.
From the renewable fuels generated from landfill gas and biomass to wind and solar power, Ameresco provides renewable energy solutions that allow organizations to capitalize on the most current energy technologies available. By coupling innovative financing arrangements with renewable power sources, Ameresco customers benefit from a reliable source of power that offers protection from volatile energy markets.
Ameresco and its customers have been honored by the Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Energy and Frost & Sullivan for their renewable energy efforts.
"The SRS Biomass Cogeneration Facility supports the Department's energy efficiency and sustainability goals, and with the success of this facility, it shows SRS is working to meet national challenges in strategic areas such as sustainability and clean energy."

FEATURED CASE STUDY:
DOE SAVANNAH RIVER SITE BIOMASS COGENERATION FACILITY
Under a $795 million Energy Saving Performance Contact (ESPC), the largest renewable-energy ESPC in U.S. history, Ameresco is replacing coal-fired cogeneration facilities at the Department of Energy's Savannah River site in Aiken, South Carolina. The new facility will generate 240,000 pounds of steam per hour and generate 20MW of electricity, reduce emissions, reduce the amount of water taken from the Savannah River and create 800 construction jobs and 125 permanent jobs. There are no up-front costs to the Department of Energy, and biomass fuel will be sourced from forest debris collected within 100 miles of the site, helping to control long-term operating costs.
