Looking to align sustainable energy resources with power supply demands, the Wakefield Municipal Gas & Light Department (WMGLD), partnered with Ameresco on an energy efficient solar system. The work included two solar installations totaling 230 kW. One system is designed for off-site efficient clean energy utilization by the community, and the other for on-site energy utilization, delivering reliability and flexibility for WMGLD.

- Increased renewable energy production to support community and WMGLD needs (~143 MWh and ~119 MWh from sites A and B respectively)

Solution
Ameresco’s collaboration with WMGLD focused on installing solar arrays to boost Wakefield’s energy sustainability and reliability. The project involves two systems: a community solar array and a net metered array. Ameresco provided comprehensive project management, design, and installation services, ensuring timely and efficient completion.
