Roxbury Community College Reduces Annual Emissions by 5,689,934 Pounds of CO2

Summary

Roxbury Community College (RCC) partnered with Ameresco to address campus-wide energy upgrades, deliver energy savings, and reduce the college’s carbon footprint.

“The innovative, tri-level renewable solution for Parking Lot 1 is the most unique aspect of our  project, and is the first of its kind in Massachusetts. Beneath the parking lot, we have 115 geothermal wells, 500-feet deep, to function as our heating and cooling source. On the surface, we have parking for 320 cars, in addition to electric charging stations for up to 6 cars. Above the lot, we have a solar canopy with a 1 million kWH/year electric generation capacity, providing renewable energy. This renewable solution provides tremendous strides in supporting and help to achieve our sustainability goals.”
