Portland Business Journal – Renewable energy company to fund $18 million street light project in Oregon

A renewable energy company is funding an $18 million street light replacement project in the Portland metro area that is expected to save the equivalent of 3,500 metric tons of carbon emissions each year.

Framingham, Mass.-based Ameresco announced Tuesday that, on behalf of the Oregon Department of Transportation, the company will replace over 8,000 high-pressure sodium light fixtures along ODOT’s Region 1 system which includes the Clackamas, Hood River, Multnomah and eastern Washington counties.
