Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development, Philadelphia Energy Authority and Ameresco Celebrate Stories of Community Energy and Innovation

Ameresco is hosting a networking event in celebration of our new Philadelphia office, and continuing commitment to evolving microgrid business initiatives

FRAMINGHAM, MA and Philadelphia, PA – November 8, 2018 – Ameresco, Inc. (NYSE:AMRC), a leading energy efficiency and renewable energy company, is hosting an industry workshop and networking event today at the Philadelphia Navy Yard to celebrate the spirit of innovation and collaboration in energy and microgrid solutions.

Several projects and initiatives occurring in Pennsylvania, the City of Philadelphia, and at The Navy Yard will be showcased. The workshop series features a broad spectrum of initiatives to include an introduction by the Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED) and Team PA Energy Horizons, discussion concerning the Philadelphia Navy Yard microgrid, Solarize Philly, and the recently announced $1.25 million grant awarded by DOE for solar installation workforce development, and DCED’s POWER-funded Coal Plant Repurposing Playbook program.

Speakers will include Will Agate, who recently joined Ameresco and will lead in applying and integrating microgrid services into Ameresco’s broader energy solutions offerings. “In deciding how to announce the opening of our Philadelphia office, we wanted to demonstrate the collaborative approach that Ameresco believes is critical for sound microgrid development, and to share the good news that Pennsylvania, Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Navy yard are all active national players in the new world of distributive energy.” Will Agate LEED AP, Vice President Microgrid Services of Ameresco.

Separately, Ameresco and its client, the Philadelphia Authority for Industrial Development (PAID) also announced Ameresco’s completion and commissioning of the fourth 2 MW module to the existing natural gas generation plant now totaling 8MW, which serves as the largest on-site generator for The Navy Yard, and the primary generating asset on the internationally acclaimed microgrid system.
