With a mission to energize a sustainable world for all, Ameresco recognizes the need to support under-represented communities to ensure social and economic equity and justice. In Canada, history reinforces this need and on the continued path to reconciliation, Ameresco Canada has forged partnerships with organizations supporting and strengthening the Indigenous economy.
As a Canadian Council for Indigenous Business (CCIB) member, Ameresco is committed to building relationships with and delivering projects for Indigenous communities and businesses to ensure an equitable and sustainable economy across Canada.
We are also proud to be a Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations (PAIR) certified business. PAIR Committed participation indicates our commitment to continual improvement in Indigenous relations and intention to undergo external verification of our performance in the future.
In 2022, Ameresco established a partnership with the Indigenous Treaty Partners (ITP) to develop an annual scholarship to promote and support Indigenous students attending post-secondary education in the field of science and engineering. Ameresco Canada’s PAIR Committee votes to select a recipient that demonstrates clear goals and passions that align with Ameresco.
