Renewables Now – Sonnedix breaks ground on 300-MW solar portfolio in UK

Global solar power producer Sonnedix Power Holdings Ltd said today it has commenced construction works on a portfolio of five ground-mounted solar farms with a combined capacity of 300 MW in the UK.

The sites are scheduled to become operational in early 2025. Once switched on, they will produce 300,000 MWh of clean electricity annually, enough to meet the needs of 85,000 UK homes.

The solar farms, which range in size from 20 MW to 120 MW, will be situated in County Durham, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, North Devon and Lancashire. Construction works have been assigned to Ameresco Sunel Energy Ltd.
