Kiosk Ribbon Cutting

Mayor Joseph C. Sullivan and Sean Powers, Council President, announce a Kiosk Ribbon Cutting scheduled for Tuesday, May 24 at 10:30 am at Town Hall.  The Town of Braintree and Braintree Electric Light Department partnered with Ameresco on a solar system on the rooftop of Braintree High School and a solar array project at the Braintree Landfill.  An interactive kiosk in the lobby of Town Hall displays the environmental benefit of solar and serves as an informational tool.

“The partnership that the town has structured with Ameresco is a beneficial one that states our commitment to the usage of renewable energy as we move forward” said Mayor Sullivan.  The Town of Braintree created a Commonwealth Community Compact earlier this year and as its main commitment to continuous improvement, the Town pledged to adapt to climate change.

“Ameresco commends the Town of Braintree and the Braintree Electric Light Department for their tremendous leadership, dedication, and commitment in embracing fiscally-responsible renewable energy solutions throughout the community,” said Michael Bakas, Senior Vice President, Ameresco.  “Not only are these renewable energy projects fiscally prudent for the Town, they also provide an excellent learning opportunity for citizens to experience clean energy and sustainable practices as part of everyday life.”
