Fall River Mayor Flanagan and Ameresco to Mark Completion of Solar Panel Installations

WHAT:

Fall River Mayor Will Flanagan will join Ameresco executives along with school and local officials at a ribbon-cutting ceremony to recognize the completion of a 76 kW solar panel installation at Frank M. Silvia Elementary School.  As part of the event, attendees will have an opportunity to interact with a kiosk in the school’s lobby that will provide educational information about the system to students, teachers and visitors.  Similar installations have been completed at the City’s Water Treatment Plant, the Edmund P. Talbot Middle School, and the New Mathew J. Kuss Middle School.

The event will also recognize the completion of the first phase of a multi-phase energy efficiency initiative, including a 576 kW PPA with the City, for Ameresco to design, build, own, operate and maintain the four solar PV electricity generating systems.  The project also features a comprehensive Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) that is expected to save the City more than $2.7 million in energy savings over the life of the contract, while reducing Fall River’s carbon footprint by 25.8 million pounds of carbon dioxide.
