The Promise of Solar and Storage Solutions for Utilities
Wednesday, September 25, 2019
2:30 PM – 4:00 PM
Session Room: 250E
Jacqueline DeRosa – Vice President Battery Energy Storage Systems, Ameresco
Session Description: Electricity grids across the nation are undergoing a rapid transition, in large part because of widespread renewables deployment, driven by utility and corporate procurement and customer DER adoption. Energy storage at scale is now an unquestioned building block of the modern energy grid, helping drive reliability, resilience, and the integration of renewable energy resources. With utilities awash in new technology, programs, and services, this innovative session will feature teams of leading thought leaders from the electric utility industry and the solar and storage industry who will weigh in on existing challenges and how solar and storage solutions can provide key grid services, including flexibility, in a manner that complements utility needs for resilience and flexibility, and customer satisfaction.
