Energy Exchange 2020

When it comes to energy and water management, efficient-resilient-secure operations are the goal of every federal agency and the mission of the 2020 Energy Exchange.

In 2020, the Energy Exchange is going virtual, bringing efficient-resilient-secure energy and water management solutions directly to wherever YOU are August 10-14. This year’s Energy Exchange will be a virtual event from August 10-14. It will include onsite demonstrations of cutting edge technologies, FEDS Spotlight recognition of the most innovative and successful projects, and opportunities to drive innovation with the help of DOE and FEMP subject matter experts.

It’s all about empowering solutions, mitigating outages, reducing cost and waste, and supporting the missions of all our federal agencies.

Track: Integrating Resilience at Federal Agencies
Session: B:5 – Defining Requirements to Maximize Resilience
Date: August 11th  |  3:00 pm
Overview: This session looks to answer the question of how much water and power is really needed to be efficient and support critical missions. Available tools and resources and processes will be explored to look at criticality, efficiency, threat assessments and load prioritization, along with the challenges of turning those analyses into a roadmap for addressing gaps to improve efficiency and resilience posture.

Track: Deploying Efficient Technologies in Federal Projects
Session: E:7 – Advanced Energy Storage Technologies & Applications
Date: August 12th | 10:30 am
Overview: Advanced energy storage technologies and applications are shaping the Federal landscape and hold unlimited potential for improving resilience throughout the Federal government. This session will highlight emergent energy storage approaches, including thermal and electricity storage. Speakers will describe the Department of Energy’s Grand Storage Challenge and provide case studies of ongoing storage projects.

Session: B:13 – Empowering Stakeholders Across the Nexus
Date: August 13th  | 3:00 pm
Overview: The resilience nexus is a dynamic and continuous process. For the resilience process to be successful, engaging a diverse set of stakeholders across a range of perspectives and expertise is critical. This session will focus on achieving leadership buy-in and convening stakeholders to integrate requirements and technologies to achieve efficiencies and enhance resiliency.
