Worcester Business Journal – Ameresco secures two Hawaiian energy projects, nears third for Pearl Harbor

Ameresco Inc., a Framingham-based company specializing in energy resiliency projects, has been awarded two clean energy projects on the island of O’ahu in Hawai‘i.

The company announced in a press release on Monday that it has been awarded contracts for the Pu’uola Energy installation, which is designed to generate 99 megawatts of energy using biodiesel and biogas fuels, and the Pu’uola Solar project, an installation designed to provide the island with 6.4 megawatts of solar generation.

The Pu’uola Energy installation is expected to come online in Q3 of 2026, while the Pu’uola Solar project is expected to be completed by Q4 of 2027, pending successful negotiations of a power purchase agreement and approved by Hawai’i’s Public Utilities Commission.
