Q – Why is the university performing this project?
A –The air handling units, which provide heating and cooling to the building are from the 1960’s and in need of replacement.
Q – What work is the University performing?
A – Air handling units in the 4th floor mechanical penthouse are being replaced with new. No work will be performed in individual classrooms, offices, or laboratories.
Q – Where is the work taking place?
A – This project includes work in the 4th floor mechanical penthouse only. Access up to the 4th floor through the elevators and elevator lobby is necessary during construction.

Q – Why are classrooms and offices not able to be used?
A – During the Air Handling Unit replacement work, the zones served by the Air Handling Units being replaced will not be provided fresh ventilation and cooling and must be vacated. Some areas of BSB are served by Air Handling Units not affected by this project and will not need to be vacated. A – No work is to take place within classrooms or offices. No special preparations are required.

A – The project team will be monitoring air quality during all phases of construction.
