NBC Montana – Missoula Takes Step Toward Clean Energy
MISSOULA, Mont. — Missoula’s Public Works and Mobility Department completed a significant project toward city emissions and achieving Mayor Jordan Hess’ climate goals.
The completed project involves the installation of a 1,000-panel solar array at the resource recovery facility, which will provide 20% of the electricity needed to operate the city’s wastewater treatment plant.
Hess attended the project’s completion and flipped the switch on the new renewable energy power source.
The event also included speakers from Public Works and Mobility, the city’s Climate and Sustainability Office and the project’s partner, Ameresco.
