Community Open House at Full Blast Recreation Department to Celebrate Completion of Energy Savings Project

Public invited to attend on Wednesday evening December 11, 2013 to tour the facility, learn about energy saving initiatives and enjoy free refreshments.

FRAMINGHAM, MA and BATTLE CREEK, MI – December 11, 2013 – Ameresco, Inc., (NYSE:AMRC), a leading energy efficiency and renewable energy company, announced today the completion of the $1.3 million City of Battle Creek, Parks and Recreation facility project.  Ameresco is sponsoring a community open house from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. this evening at the Full Blast located at 35 Hamblin Avenue in downtown Battle Creek.  Join the community celebration in honor of the project expected to save the City more than $85,000 annually in energy and maintenance costs.

The energy savings performance contract (ESPC) was designed to improve energy efficiency at the City’s community recreation center.  Some of the energy conservation measures implemented include a central hot water heating plant that provides the heating capacity for improved building comfort, domestic hot water, and the indoor pool, a new open protocol controls system, and installation of renewable energy features, such as solar energy for the outdoor pool. Each of these measures were designed to increase the efficient use of energy and to decrease the building’s emissions and carbon footprint. This project is expected to help reduce the center’s operating costs and allow the department to take a leadership role in economic and environmental stewardship in the community.

The annual emissions reduction from this project is expected to be approximately 332 metric tons of CO2, the equivalent of taking 366 cars off the road or powering 42 homes each year.
