Cole County Partners with Ameresco for Renovations and Expansion of the County’s Emergency Medical Services facility

FRAMINGHAM, MA and JEFFERSON CITY, MO – May 20, 2014 – Ameresco, Inc., (NYSE:AMRC), a leading energy efficiency and renewable energy company, announced today that work is commencing on the nearly $1.2 million Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) with Cole County, Missouri. The project includes building renovations and expansion of the existing County Emergency Medical Services facility.

Upgrades to the building infrastructure and energy efficiency improvements within the 9,000 square foot facility are expected to save the County more than $89,000 in annual energy and operational costs.  The building will also be modernized to provide more comfortable space with greater functionality for EMS staff and other building occupants, while providing reliable, around the clock county-wide emergency medical services for the community.

“This project with Ameresco allows us to significantly enhance our EMS facility, increase the energy efficiency of the building, and improve the inside environment allowing for a better experience for all of our staff and the visiting community,” said Presiding Commissioner Marc Ellinger. “We’re also delighted the project is expected to take 90 days from start to finish.”

Energy efficiency measures include HVAC expansions, energy efficient lighting, plumbing improvements, and electrical additions. A fire detection and notification system will also be installed throughout the entire facility. Once complete, these measures are expected to improve performance, control and comfort at the County facility as well as help to reduce maintenance and operating costs.

“We are delighted to have been selected by Cole County to aid in meeting the needs and energy efficiency goals for the EMS facility,” said Louis P. Maltezos, Executive Vice President, Ameresco. “The budget-neutral ESPC delivers meaningful dollar savings to the County. It’s very rewarding for Ameresco when we partner on a project where the enhancements and improvements impact and benefit an entire community.”

This contract builds on Ameresco’s work throughout Missouri where the Company has completed ESPC projects with Riverview Gardens School District, University City School District, Hazelwood School District, and Metro West Fire Protection District, among others.  Ameresco has a long history of partnering with counties, schools, and municipalities to improve energy infrastructure and install renewable energy technologies.  Ameresco’s ESPC financing model has made the budget-neutral solution an increasingly popular option for customers across North America.  It enables budget-neutral energy efficiency upgrades by guaranteeing a minimum level of energy savings over the term of the contract.  Ameresco coordinates the upfront project costs and the County repays that investment with their energy savings over time.
