ABC4 – Floating solar farm in Park City

It’s the first floating solar farm in Utah and a handful of organizations, government, agencies, and companies across the state are celebrating. The floating solar panels on this small retention pond will help reduce the amount of energy that Mountain Regional Water consumes off of the grid, by up to 92%, or the energy to power a few hundred homes. Pumping the water from the river uses a lot of energy, and that’s where these solar panels come into the picture. It should save about $76,000 a year in energy costs.
