SUMMARY:Microgrid 2021 Virtual Conference
DESCRIPTION:Virtual Microgrid Tour: Mission Critical Microgrid\nMay 11th | 12:15-12:45pm ET \nLearn how the Defense Logistics Agency Energy (DLA) and the United States Air Force is implementing an energy security and resiliency infrastructure project at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) in Texas. Join us for a virtual tour of a base that implemented energy efficiency and reliability upgrades\, then leveraged these comprehensive energy savings to build an innovative microgrid and distributed generation architecture to provide energy assurance in support of mission critical operations. This project integrates on-site renewable energy generation\, battery energy storage\, microgrid technologies\, and more to allow for a seamless transition to backup power in order to maintain operation of critical loads. \nHow to Pay for Your Microgrid\nMay 20th | 11am-12pm ET\nJohn Kononiuk\, Executive Manager of Facilities\, London District Catholic School Board and Jim Fonger\, Vice President of Business Development and Distributed Generation\, Ameresco\, “How the Energy-as-a-Service Model Helped Fund Canada’s First Carbon Neutral School” \nWhat project financing options are available? Is energy-as-a-service right for your facility? Do you qualify for government incentives and tax credits? Financial experts educate you about your options. \nMicrogrids as Sustainability Heroes\nMay 25th | 11am-12pm ET\nModerator: Jacqueline DeRosa\, Vice President – Energy Storage Systems\, Ameresco \nThe story of three microgrids that are helping their hosts reach sustainability or renewable energy goals. How can you employ a microgrid to do the same for you? (Webinar) \nThe Green Energy Balancing Act: How Microgrids Steady the Scale\nMay 25th | 1-2pm ET\nMichael Bakas\, Executive Vice President\, Ameresco \nThe world is looking for ways to reduce greenhouse gases and increase clean energy. Are these goals being achieved? What stands in the way? Will intermittent resources like wind and solar jeopardize grid reliability? How can microgrids help? (Panel discussion) \n  \nVisit Ameresco in the virtual exhibit hall!

SUMMARY:WASBO 2021 Annual Conference
DESCRIPTION:This year’s theme is a nod to the hybrid world we are – and have been – living in. 2020 forced us to set aside preferences or discomfort toward growth and development through online learning; a sentiment that spans all ages\, not just K-12. The virtual world has been the glue that held us together over the last year\, aiding to keep us informed and connected while we all experienced more disconnect than usual. \nReconnected\, Refreshed represents the WASBO Annual Conference as a medium dedicated to bringing everyone together\, whether in-person or remote. Our goal is for those who participate in this event will leave feeling refreshed\, renewed and looking forward to the next opportunity for connection!

SUMMARY:Northeast Energy and Commerce Association - Clean Peak Standard Event
DESCRIPTION:Getting up to Speed with the Massachusetts Clean Peak Standard \nMassachusetts has launched the nation’s first Clean Peak Energy Standard (CPS)\, a complex program that aims to incentivize ‘Clean Peak Resources’ that can generate\, dispatch\, or reduce consumption at times of system peak demand\, cut emissions\, and lower ratepayer costs.  The policy is structured to incentivize renewables\, energy storage\, and demand response resource development and operation.  While the program creates a new\, supplemental revenue stream\, it is off to a slow start\, with some key eligibility and long-term procurement opportunity details still outstanding.  As market participants are gaining an understanding of the dynamic Clean Peak Energy Certificate market characteristics and interactions with other markets and programs\, and as the state is addressing outstanding design features\, the time is ripe to get up the curve on the CPS.  Panelists will share their perspectives on this new market and the opportunities it presents as well as the outstanding issues. Join us to learn what we think will be in store. \nTime: 12:00 to 1:30 PM \nSpeakers:  \n\nBen Krupp\, Asset Manager – Solar PV\, Ameresco\, Inc.\nKatherine Wilson\, manager\, Wholesale Electric Supply\, National Grid\nShawn Jones\, Managing Director\, head of Storage Development\, BlueWave Solar\nStephan Wollenburg\, Sr. Consultant\, Sustainable Energy\, Advantage\, LLC\nModerator – Mike Berlinski\, Director – Emerging Technology\, Customized Energy Solutions\n\nRegister here: https://www.necanews.org/events/EventDetails.aspx?id=1515709 \n
