SUMMARY:EBPowerCon: Energy Storage Takes Centre Stage
DESCRIPTION:Energy Storage Takes Centre Stage\nMarch 22nd | 10:55-11:30am ET\nJim Fonger\, Vice President of Asset & Advanced Technology Development\, Ameresco  \nAs we began the push toward decarbonizing our society\, renewable energies were naturally propelled into the spotlight. Solar and wind energies are now\, arguably\, mature technologies\, and they’ve come down in price tremendously. Yet one problem remained unsolved: the intermittent nature of those renewable sources of energy. \nUnsolved until now\, that is. Nowadays\, energy storage has rightfully taken centre stage\, serving as the missing link between intermittent energy sources and reliable supply. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg! \nJim Fonger joins EBPowerCon to demystify energy storage (whose roots go back a lot further than you’d think!)\, and explain how it is an integral component of distributed energy resources and microgrids… not to mention that energy storage is yet one more exciting technology bursting with opportunity for electrical professionals. \nClick here to register for EBPowerCon.

SUMMARY:Smart Cities Connect 2021 Spring Conference & Expo
DESCRIPTION:Smart Cities Start at Their Core: A Smart Water Project That Delivered Resiliency When It Was Needed the Most\nApril 13th | 2:45-3:30 ET \nCities are focusing their smart initiatives on proven projects that address their core needs. Water infrastructure is one of those\, as we recently saw with the extreme weather event in Texas. Citizens struggled with boil water mandates and suffered for days without communication or resolution. In this session\, we’ll do a deep dive into the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) project implemented for Woodlands Water\, located just outside of Houston\, TX. How did this project come to fruition? How did it impact their response to the devastating February winter storm\, and what lessons were learned along the way? This session will provide a blueprint to cities looking for smart solutions that focus on their core infrastructure to deliver resiliency when it is needed the most. \nSpeakers: \nMaureen Bourgeois\, Accounting Manager\, Woodlands Water \nChad Nobles\, Sr. Account Executive\, Ameresco \nVisit Ameresco in our Virtual Booth!\nLink opens in new window. Virtual booth accessible to registered attendees. Event registration is free for city leaders.

SUMMARY:Northeast Energy and Commerce Association - Clean Peak Standard Event
DESCRIPTION:Getting up to Speed with the Massachusetts Clean Peak Standard \nMassachusetts has launched the nation’s first Clean Peak Energy Standard (CPS)\, a complex program that aims to incentivize ‘Clean Peak Resources’ that can generate\, dispatch\, or reduce consumption at times of system peak demand\, cut emissions\, and lower ratepayer costs.  The policy is structured to incentivize renewables\, energy storage\, and demand response resource development and operation.  While the program creates a new\, supplemental revenue stream\, it is off to a slow start\, with some key eligibility and long-term procurement opportunity details still outstanding.  As market participants are gaining an understanding of the dynamic Clean Peak Energy Certificate market characteristics and interactions with other markets and programs\, and as the state is addressing outstanding design features\, the time is ripe to get up the curve on the CPS.  Panelists will share their perspectives on this new market and the opportunities it presents as well as the outstanding issues. Join us to learn what we think will be in store. \nTime: 12:00 to 1:30 PM \nSpeakers:  \n\nBen Krupp\, Asset Manager – Solar PV\, Ameresco\, Inc.\nKatherine Wilson\, manager\, Wholesale Electric Supply\, National Grid\nShawn Jones\, Managing Director\, head of Storage Development\, BlueWave Solar\nStephan Wollenburg\, Sr. Consultant\, Sustainable Energy\, Advantage\, LLC\nModerator – Mike Berlinski\, Director – Emerging Technology\, Customized Energy Solutions\n\nRegister here: https://www.necanews.org/events/EventDetails.aspx?id=1515709 \n
