SUMMARY:NECA Evening Event: What’s the Story on Storage?
DESCRIPTION:How does storage fit in? Most agree that storage is needed to achieve 80 percent carbon reduction from 1990 levels by 2050. The scope of that participation is less clear. A hybrid of both generation and load\, storage does not clearly fit into traditional electricity supply chain definitions. Legacy definitions and pricing can discriminate against storage. Adaptable to both high voltage transmission interconnection and low voltage distribution systems that can be used to support the bulk grid\, it is unclear whether storage should be considered wholesale or retail resources. The issue has become so contentious that market participants are challenging FERC’s rules to advance deployment of energy storage technologies. In the meantime\, technological advancements\, price declines and new entrants are leading the charge. Fire-up your networks and industry connections at an electrifying evening focused on the story of storage. Hear both positive and negative news around advances in energy storage technologies\, policy initiatives promoting storage in New England\, and specific findings from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell’s recently-issued report\, “The Role of Energy Storage in Our Carbon-Free Future.”

SUMMARY:NECA 2020 Renewable Energy Conference
DESCRIPTION:The Northeast has long been a leader and first adopter of renewable energy\, storage\, greenhouse gas management\, and other climate-related policies. Many states in the region have recently upped the ante with new decarbonization or 100% renewable goals and pledges. The start of a new decade presents the opportunity for honest reflection of our progress against such goals and discussion on where we go from here. With that in mind\, NECA’s 2020 Renewable Energy Conference will begin the day by examining the many climate goals and polices and their implications across the region to envision what our energy supply\, and supporting technologies\, would need to look like in order to achieve them. Through that lens\, renewable energy developers\, financers\, government officials\, engineers\, utility representatives\, and other market participants will explore the challenges our region faces to make those goals a reality and possible solutions that should be contemplated.

SUMMARY:SunCast Clean Energy Summit
DESCRIPTION:Speaker:\nJacqueline DeRosa\, VP – Battery Energy Storage Systems\n“How is Energy Storage Driving Innovation in Renewables?” \nFrom residential to large-scale utility projects\, energy storage (predominantly in the form of batteries) is leap-frogging other applications for finally providing firm and transactive power to the grid from renewables. SUMMARY:Energy Efficiency Global Forum 2020 Webinar Series
DESCRIPTION:This webinar will focus on the results of Johnson Controls’ 2019 Global Energy Efficiency Indicator survey\, which tracks current and planned investments\, key drivers\, and organizational barriers to improving energy efficiency in facilities. The COVID-19 crisis provides the specific context for this webinar: With reference to historical EE Indicator Survey data\, Clay Nesler will explore what the surveys revealed about companies’ priorities during the economic recovery from the 2009 recession; in the context of the 2019 data\, he will then discuss what these historical lessons can teach us about what may come next. \nIn light of the global COVID-19 pandemic\, EE Global has been transformed into a series of webinars developed in consultation with our 2020 sponsors and EE Global Working Group\, comprised of energy efficiency experts from all regions of the world. \nThis series will cover pertinent topics like Lessons from the Great Recession\, Accelerating the Recovery in Buildings\, and Driving Energy Efficiency Through ISO Certification of Facilities.

SUMMARY:5th Annual Oppenheimer Emerging Growth Conference
DESCRIPTION:Heightened social\, governmental\, and consumer attention on the broader impact of corporations and growing recognition of potential long-term value creation for stakeholders are driving increased focus on ESG considerations by companies and investors alike. For small-cap companies and investors\, the resources required to integrate ESG considerations into compliance and decision-making can be considerable. As evidence\, we note the current disparity in readily available ESG information for small vs. large-cap companies. In this panel\, we explore perspectives from ESG investors and business leaders on how emerging growth companies can best navigate the requirements\, opportunities\, and complexities of ESG considerations.
