One of London Central Secondary School’s most celebrated graduates is coming home. The Thames Valley District School Board, in partnership with Ameresco Canada Inc., is pleased to welcome Dr. David Suzuki to London Central Secondary School on Monday, November 7. Dr. Suzuki will speak to Central students beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Dr. Suzuki, who graduated from Central in 1954, is an award-winning scientist, environmentalist, and broadcaster. His presentation – Caring for the Earth Begins With ME – will focus on environmental stewardship, and the responsibility that human beings have to protect and preserve the planet. Following the presentation, Dr. Suzuki will participate in a special ceremony on the school grounds, where a tree will be planted by students in his honour.
“Dr. Suzuki has dedicated his life to discovery, progress, and education,” said Director of Education Bill Bryce. “I have no doubt that his knowledge, insight, and passion will inspire students to adopt environmentally responsible habits in their lives, which is a key to creating positive change in the future.”
Ameresco Canada Inc. is Thames Valley’s energy partner in the TVDSB Energy Management Initiative.
