Ameresco Names Jon Puckett as Fuel Procurement Manager For Savannah River Site Project

Framingham, MA – Ameresco, Inc. (NYSE:AMRC), today announced that Jon Puckett has been named to the post of Fuel Procurement Manager at the Savannah River Site Project in Aiken, South Carolina. Mr. Puckett, a resident of Doraville, GA and a native of Dallas, GA, brings more than a dozen years of experience in biomass procurement to the new post.

He is an experienced and proven professional with significant knowledge of this region and its resources.”

As Fuel Procurement Manager, Puckett will be responsible for the identification, assessment, procurement, and overall quality control of the fuel supply for the Savannah River Project. The Savannah River Site Project is the largest energy efficiency project in the federal government’s history and will feature — when completed — the largest biomass plant owned and operated by the federal government.

In the spring of 2009, Ameresco was awarded a $795 million contract by the Department of Energy (DOE) is to construct the biomass cogeneration facility and two smaller biomass heating facilities at the DOE’s Savannah River Site. Under the terms of the contract, Ameresco will finance, design, construct, operate, maintain and fuel the new biomass facilities for the DOE for the next 20 years.
