Ameresco Employee Appointed to IDEA Board

Framingham, MA – Ameresco is pleased to announce that Wm. Lynn Crawford, Sr. Account Executive, has been elected to serve a three-year term as a member of the board of the International District Energy Association (IDEA).

District energy is an efficient, environmentally responsible method of heating and cooling buildings. District energy systems produce steam, hot water or chilled water at a central plant. The steam or water is then piped underground to individual buildings within a designated area for heating, cooling or use in industrial processes.

The 900-member IDEA was founded in 1909 and comprises heating and cooling executives, managers, engineers, consultants and equipment suppliers from 18 countries. IDEA fosters the success of its members as leaders in providing reliable, economical, efficient and environmentally sound district energy services. Its vision is to promote energy efficiency and environmental quality through the advancement of district heating, district cooling and cogeneration (also known as combined heat and power or CHP).
