Englewood Mayor Woodward, City Council and Staff to Join Ameresco in Ribbon Cutting for Solar PV and Energy Conservation Projects

WHAT: Mayor Jim Woodward will announce the beginning of a significant energy efficiency and infrastructure upgrade. The City of Englewood, in partnership with Ameresco, is implementing two clean energy initiatives. The energy conservation program includes a focus on efficiencies in equipment retrofits and replacements and will be self-funded by the energy savings from the projects. As part of the City’s energy stabilization strategy, solar photovoltaic (PV) systems were installed on four City-owned sites, and generate 431,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of energy annually.  The projects will result in environmental benefits by reducing harmful nitrous oxides, sulfuric oxides, and carbon monoxides released into the atmosphere.
