What are the qualifications?

Peak Demand Savings

The program is targeted to save peak demand use across Connecticut. Therefore, the program is best suited for the installation of energy efficiency equipment which is in service throughout the year, particularly between 1PM-5PM during the months of June, July, and August, and between 5-7PM in December and January.

Peak demand savings are calculated as the average kW saved during the performance hours (1PM-5PM June-July; 5-7PM Dec-Jan / non-weekends and non-holidays), i.e. total kWh saved during those hours divided by the number of hours in the period. Example: 2600 kWh during the 260 performance hours in Summer 2009. 420kWh during the 84 performance hours in Winter 2009/10. Summer savings = 10kW / Winter savings = 5kW.

Customer Type

The program is open to commercial, industrial, institutional, state and municipal customers of all sizes.

Project Type

The program is open to both customers building new facilities and customers retrofitting their existing facilities.

Location

In order to qualify, the facility has to be in Connecticut, but can be located in any of the electric service territories.
