Across a wide range of industries and institutions, Connecticut businesses and non-profits are reducing electrical consumption by 5 megawatts (the equivalent of more than 1,000 homes). Ameresco and electric utility The United Illuminating Company (UI) invite you to join in.
Until May 15, 2009, under this program, Ameresco is offering up to $700 per kW saved to customers whose facilities are located anywhere in Connecticut. Projects constructed after May 15, 2009 are eligible for up to $600 per kW saved. The program is open to both customers building new facilities and customers retrofitting their existing facilities.
This Connecticut Demand-Side Management Energy Efficiency Program is a unique opportunity to upgrade your facilities, improve your community, and dramatically increase your bottom line.The program is open to both customers building new facilities and customers retrofitting their existing facilities. In order to qualify, the facility has to be in Connecticut.
What energy-saving measures are covered?
- Upgrading lighting (retrofit and new fixtures, including T five) and lighting controls
- Upgrading and retro-commissioning HVAC systems
- Upgrading refrigeration, motors and VFD's (variable frequency drives), and energy management systems
- Upgrading manufacturing processes
The program is best suited for the installation of energy efficient equipment which is in service throughout the year, particularly between 1 PM - 5 PM during the months of June, July and August, and between 5 PM - 7 PM during the months of December and January.

What types of customers are participating?
A broad cross-section of customers including hospitals, colleges, government facilities, retail, industrial, manufacturing, corporate parks, shopping plazas, and other facilities typically with long hours of operation.
How long will funding be available?
The funding is available on a first-come first-served basis, but is expected to be available until December 2010. Call now to make sure your project will be funded!
